Mandala coloring for beginners
You don’t need to know how to draw to color a mandala. All it takes is the right design, a few colors and a little patience. Here’s how to get started.
Pick a first design
Start with an “easy” mandala: few areas, generously sized. You’ll finish it in one session, and that’s what makes you want to keep going. Save the detailed mandalas, with hundreds of areas, for later, over several sessions.
Supplies, on paper
- Soft colored pencils, easy to layer.
- Fine-tip markers for small areas, on paper thick enough not to bleed.
- A sharpener and an eraser, to fix any slips.
In what order to color
From the center outward, ring by ring, or the other way round: what matters is keeping an order, so you can watch the mandala take shape. Color the large areas of a ring first, then the small ones.
Find your pace
Ten minutes is enough. A little every day beats a long session now and then. On your phone, the drawing is saved with every tap: you pick up exactly where you left off.
